Impact of Cooperative Membership on Rural Income Generation in Southwest, Nigeria

This study examines the impact of cooperative membership on rural income generation. It also analyzes factors influencing participation in cooperatives among households Southwest, Nigeria. The was designed to account for selection bias into organizations. Rural household survey data were used and estimates based both Probit model non-parametric propensity score matching method. findings show that generated through is approximately 10% higher than those by noncooperative members. Empirical determinants indicate years education, age land size have significant influences decision join cooperatives.
